Engineers' Lodge

Engineers' Lodge, No. 9493 meets four times a year at the Masonic Hall, Ripley, Derbyshire, England.

Engineers' Lodge was founded by brethren in Freemasonry whose profession is Engineering and whose combined activities embrace many of its branches. It is fitting that the first Master of the Engineers' Lodge belonged to one of its oldest branches of the profession, Mining, and that the first candidate to be initiated and the first joining member were engaged in two of its youngest, electronics and aviation.

Engineers and Freemasonry

From its earliest days mankind has used his faculties of thought and reason to invent and construct. The genius of our ancient forbearers is still seen in the form of the Pyramids, Stonehenge, the aqueducts and the medieval cathedrals. The Volume of the Sacred Law contains many references to such skill  possessed by Noah, Hiram Abif, and Tubalcain. In more recent times engineers have been able to apply the principles of science to harnessing the latent energy of this planet to give unbounded control of movement, force and speed. He is able to fly like a bird, break loose from the confines of his terrestrial domain and communicate with the planets.
